| Expatriates often have to work in challenging conditions and difficult locations.
Best Practice companies have well designed programmes and policies for risk and continuity management and are able to respond rapidly to medical emergencies, natural disasters and political turmoil. Entrants/nominees should be able to demonstrate how they address these problems and give examples of successful outcomes. |

| It is well known that when international assignments fail, the reason is often that the spouse or non-employee partner is unhappy in the new location.Many companies have spousal support programmes to deal with this aspect and this award is to reflect their operation.
Entrants should explain how their programme supports business objectives whilst also meeting the needs and requirements of spouses and partners. They should give day-to-day examples of support activities such as employment counselling, language instruction, social networking and other related solutions.
